Well when i said winter was close i didn't think i meant YESTERDAY! We got about 6 inches of snow at my house, none down at work tho. O boy, i'm just gonna love livin up there! Anyway, i got a new version of HomeSite today and i'm trying it out. I could pretty much use notepad but i do use the common buttons alot...thats about it tho. I should learn style sheets and that shit but i am too lazy. I don't use 99% of these buttons so there is probably a lot of shit that i could do but again i would rather do something else... like sleep.

Yes, I'm still alive. I've been busy working and sleeping. I really need a vacation from this work crap, so i can sleep some more. I saw Doom this weekend and it was a good "action" movie but I didn't like the way they took the story line. The story from the game goes like this...
The player takes the role of a nameless space marine, "one of Earth's toughest, hardened in combat and trained for action", who has been deported to Mars for assaulting a senior officer when ordered to kill unarmed civilians. He is forced to work for the Union Aerospace Corporation (UAC), a military-industrial conglomerate that is performing secret experiments with teleportation between the moons of Mars, Phobos and Deimos. Suddenly, something goes wrong and creatures from Hell come out of the teleportation gates. A defensive response from base security fails to halt the invasion, and the bases quickly get overrun by demons, all personnel getting killed or turned into zombies. At the same time, Deimos vanishes entirely. A UAC team from Mars is sent to Phobos to investigate the incident, but soon radio contact ceases and only one human is left alive — the player, whose task is to make it out alive

Playing thru the Doom games really put u into the whole hell thing with pentagrams painted on the walls, in blood no less, and crucified people with their guts ripped out. The movie, spoilers ahead, removes that all together and now the demons are just humans that are mutating because of a scientifically creatated drug. It could have been a lot darker and more scary with the real story line. So instead of a great movie it just becomes another action movie. There was a really cool part towards the end where it goes into "first person" mode and you get to see what it would be like playing on a giant screen...with a hundred other people sitting around you...with popcorn...and a soda. Overall it was a good movie but i was disappointed the way they took the story.
Not much else going on, winter is getting ever so close and I'm now that i live on top of the world its gonna suck driving to work every day. Well I should go do some work now...

August 30, 2005

Hello, I'm back after a brush with death. August 12th was an ordinary day, there was a meteor shower that night so i was outside till about 3am laying on the trampoline. I saw a couple dozen meteors and a couple really good ones that streaked the whole sky. Anyway, i went to sleep like usual and then about 6am i woke up in extreme pain which almost made me pass out a couple times. I had my wife take me to the doctors and they took an x-ray but didn't see anything so they sent me to the hospital to get a CATscan. I was in so much pain i told my wife to go straight to the emergency room. I sat in there for a couple hours then i needed to drink some shit for the catscan. It was a cranberry juice which wasn't too bad, it was better than that chalky milk shit they give ya, but i was already nauseous and in extreme pain so i couldn't get it down. They gave me a shot of morphine which eased the pain enough to drink 4 cups of that stuff. I had to wait another hour till i could get scanned. After a couple more hours of waiting they said i had an obstructed bowel and set me up with a room on the 14th (actually the 13th) floor. That is when the fun really began. The nurse said i get to have a NG tube and a Foley, both of which i would find out are about as fun as getting all your skin burnt off with a candle. The Foley was a catheter, which is a huge rubber hose that is inserted into, yes into, your penis to empty the urine. I would of rather they jammed it through my side to get in, it would have been less painful. Not to be outdone the NG tube was even better. This one gets shoved into your nose and down into your stomach to relieve the pressure. It was even worse than it sounds, the nurse was like, just swallow as its going down, which was impossible because you just end up gaggin' and puking. After about 5 minutes of that they had it in and there it would stay for the next 4 days. It took the whole rest of the day not to gag. Next time they do that to me I'm not gonna be awake. To top it all off the nurse that did it all was a 300 pound 80 year old, not that a young good looking one would have made the tube slide in any easier but it would have been less traumatic. The doctor came in and checked me out and said i would have to stay overnight and he would see how i was doing in the morning. On the plus side the hooked me up to a IV and gave me a morphine drip. I could have a small dose every 6 minutes. That helped me forget about the tubes sticking out of my holes. Sunday rolled around and we come to find out the NG tube isn't down far enough, so they have to shove it in further. My condition doesn't change so they need to operate to find out what is causing the obstruction. I went into surgery at 7 PM and that is still a wild experience. I remember them giving me the anesthesia and it made me get hot, the last thing i remember was the other nurse laying my arm straight and i was gone. I awoke in recovery at about 10:30 having about 3 hours of my life missing. Its not like sleeping, you have no sense of time or anything you just go away. I could have been out for days and not of known it. The doctor found that the scar tissue from when i had my appendix out had healed around my colon blocking it off. He had to cut it away and straighten the intestines and stitch me back up. I have a cut from my belly button down about 4 or 5 inches. I had 16 staples in to seal me up. The next couple days sucked cuz I had to stay in bed and i was not allowed to eat or drink anything. Wednesday rolled around and they took the NG tube and the catheter out which was painful but such a relief. I got to sip some water. Thursday i even had some juice Apparently i had too much cuz i woke up Friday and my stomach hurt worse. They took x-rays to find out it was distended worse than before so i wasn't allowed anything at all Friday. Saturday i had my first meal in over a week, i had jello and beef broth and a cup of tea! Lunch was really disappointing cuz i was still on a liquid diet and there are some things that should not be made liquid. There was a potato soup that they put in a blender for me to eat, needless to say i didn't eat much of that. For dinner i was allowed solid food and i had a pork roast ,fruited jello, potato, and chocolate cake. I ate the meal and then started on the cake and it was like a sponge exploded in my stomach. I was full instantly. I took a nice little nap after a couple shots of morphine :-) Sunday the doc came in and asked if i had eaten and taken a shit. Which i had. Apparently when you have surgery like this your stomach and stuff shuts down and has to restart, which was why i had to shit before i left. He released me Sunday morning and i was home by 2. Just in time for the race. I had to take to following week off also cuz i had lost 15 pounds, and the most excersize i had was takin' a crap. Wearing clothes were a pain cuz of the staples so i was naked most of the week which was cool. I think we should be allowed to be naked all the time, but that is a different story. I got my staples out Thursday and that made it much easier to wear clothes. I returned to work yesterday to a bunch of e-mails and voicemails. I'm still recovering, i gained 6 pounds back so far and am doing more everyday. I wasn't that active to begin with so it shouldn't take too much to get back to my lazy self. That has pretty much been my life for the past couple weeks.

I haven't posted 2 days in a row for a long time so i thought I would babble thru some shit to put up a post to make it look like there is actual information on this page. If it wasn't for these users, work would be great, but no, I have to answer calls and help people with computer problems all day. ;-) I do have some information that might be useful, I saw the new Batman Begins movie last week. I would recommend you go see it, it is a very good movie and isn't anything like the ones in the series before it. Go, go now and see it.

Its been a while since my last post, a long time a a lot of things have happened. We bought a house, moved from our rent-a-home of 4 years into it at the beginning of the month and are currently trying to dig thru the boxes and get settled in. It will take a long time to get everything where we want. The other house had bigger rooms so we are trying to compress all of our shit into less space. I now have 4 acres of grass that I get to mow, by the way does anyone have a really big tractor they want to get rid of? I have a riding mower but it still takes 4 hours with that. And that is if i keep up with it... We got new electrical service and a new well coming in and in the last couple months we have remodeled half of the house with the other half in progress. We didn't have a bathroom for the first 2 weeks cuz the pipes were old and I had to redo the fixtures and the walls and the electrical and the ...well u get the picture. The only thing that isn't being replaced in the bathroom is the tub. So probably around September we can start enjoying it, but then winter will be starting up there and will last till next July. It's away from everything and everyone so it is a really cool place to be. Now if I could just get my xbox hooked up I would be set. Well, i could stand...our couch is buried in boxes. O yea i forgot to mention there is no internet service up there!!! I could get dialup but i don't consider that internet. I could get DirectWay from DirecTV but it is 100 bucks a month for 512k service!!! I'll just deal with the internet withdraw for $1200 a year! I could buy a new plasma bigscreen every 2 years for that price!!! Or maybe no porn at home will get to me and i will shell out the money :-)
Other than that it's been pretty uneventful, other than breaking my toe. I was loading a 2 by 10 into my durango and another one fell off of the cart onto my foot, shattering my big toe. That was in May and it is still healing. I haven't had time to do much else other than moving so I have been pretty busy. I worked more in the past 3 months than i have my entire life before. Next time we are getting someone to do all the remodeling shit for me...

I watched a bunch of good movies this weekend. We started out with The Chronicles of Riddick which was really good, and then we seen National Treasure which was a Disney movie but it was actually really good also. Next it was Garden State, pretty much a chick flick but it was good, really funny. Then on to Spiderman 2. I thought the first one was ok, I'm not really into it that much. The best part in the first movie was the rain soaked MJ alley scene. Rain is good. Anyway, the second one was a much better movie. That was pretty much my weekend, that and sleep. Sunday we had a big snow storm, or was supposed to. We only got about 6 inches, but it was really windy, so it was pretty much a blizzard all weekend. It's warmed up this week, we are actually in the 20s now!! It's a regular fuckin' heatwave. Ya know, people should learn when to mind their own fucking business. I think most people are void of common sense, lumps of flesh and bone drudging through life, squawking like fucking parrots. I think common senselessness should be considered a disease along with all the others. I could start a center for the CS deprived and get federal grants to study it in Hawaii...

Well, 'ello then. It's tha start of a new year, tis'. Time just right up an' flies by, now don't it. 'tart of a new year same ol' shite' tho'. I sent me 2004 news to the archive, I did. Ok, enough of the ol' english speak. This new years was less eventful than the last, i was actually awake at midnight tho, i took vacation time between xmas and new years so i had the whole week to lay around and do nothing. Then the week after that i was back to work for a day, and got sick, which put me out for the rest of that week. Been ok since then...if you call working everyday good. I got some photos of my xbox that i will be throwing up here sooner or later. I added LED's around the bottom, three blue in the front and 2 red ones on each side. I wired them up with a switch that i mounted in the back to turn them on and off. Since i put a regular fan in the existing power connection was going to waste, so i used that to power them. I ran the 3 blue ones in parallel and the 4 red ones in parallel, then paralleled those 2 circuits, which turned out to be a hell of a lot of wire! It also took much longer than i expected i think i started planning it out on paper at 4 on Saturday afternoon and finally had the case back on at 3:30am. There were a few breaks in between testing and soldering and dremmeling, to eat and play Resident Evil 4 on a friends Gamecube. He had brought it over and we played that while i worked. It is a really good game, all creepy and shit, and beware of the snakes in boxes! hahaha... Well, my birthday has come and gone since my last post and i think i am now officially considered a dirty old man?? I've been around 3 decades now and don't feel a day over 80! I have to laugh at all these young people walking around thinking their life sucks and they can't wait to grow up and move out of their damn parents house. I say live it up you stupid assholes, cuz after highschool you don't get to act like a dumbass and do nothing but surf porn all day...ok i still do that, but the dumbass part applies. Life is what you make of it. If you are going to go around everyday thinking your life sucks it will suck. You have to make it not suck, nobody is going to hold your hand and give you everything you ever wanted. Unless your Paris Hilton, or a little boy at Neverland Ranch. So unless you are one of those 2, if your life sux, its up to you to change it. My life has been great so far and as i get older it's getting better over all. As long as you don't worry about every little fucking thing, it seems to work out in the end. Enjoy your life while you still have it, because tomorrow may never come.
